Job Title: Assistant Manager

Reports to: Senior Manager of Retail

Location: Aurora

Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager serves as frontline support for the store manager and retail department. S/he is the leader at the store and an immediate resource for budtenders and customer concerns. The Assistant Manager can both open and close the store and retain all necessary keys and codes to operate store in the absence of the Store Manager. The basic job requirements span personnel management, administrative duties, and aiding in successful day-to-day operations. Additionally, the Assistant Manager must be capable of performing the duties of all positions below his/her own to provide coverage wherever needed. Specific job duties include but are not limited to the following:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directly manage staff including assisting with employee scheduling, helping maintain employee profiles for all active employees, and conflict resolution
  • Direct and active role in hiring/firing, interview process, and all disciplinary action
  • Complete appropriate checklists associated with being the MOD on a shift
  • Maintain chain of command when reporting pertinent information to executive team
  • METRC responsibilities including tag merging, finishing packages, sales adjustment spreadsheets, sales exports, accepting manifested transfers, manifesting product when necessary, and shredding RFID package tags when sold through in METRC
  • Complete harvest intake procedures as well as facilitate wholesale transfers, inventory transfers, and patient input
  • Biotrack tasks including input of product, reporting of discounts and gift card payments nightly, daily and department auditing, and troubleshooting of inventory errors
  • Efficiently replenishes floor inventory while maintaining accurate back stock inventory tracking procedures
  • Assists inventory manager with responsibilities including ensuring accurate inventory counts and audits, placing garden harvest orders, and ensuring store inventory remains healthy
  • Acts as MOD for most if not all scheduled shifts, opens and closes the store following appropriate procedure and reporting any issues of incident to the store manager
  • Perform duties of all positions below their own, assistant manager fills any staffing need when necessary
  • Express all supply needs to the appropriate manager
  • Maintain monthly manifest logs matching inventory input to signed METRC transfer manifests
  • Completion of various delegated responsibilities from store manager and retail department
  • Attendance required at weekly store specific manager meetings and company wide retail manager meetings alternating bi-weekly on Thursdays
  • Maintains waste log and CS problems log in Aurora
  • Quality control, ensures all unsatisfactory product is reported through appropriate channels and properly disposed of when necessary
  • Ability to complete all inspections successfully, ability to proficiently navigate DVR system
  • Confirm employee timesheet weekly for accountant
  • Complete morning round-ups to inform staff of daily happenings
  • Maintain store culture
  • Access to safe in cash vault, counts cash box when closing MOD

Job Requirements (Education and Experience)

  • Must have MED badge (or provide letter proving it has been approved and in the mail)
  • Some secondary education preferred, college degree desired
  • Experience with POS systems (Biotrack preferred,) METRC inventory tracking system, and compliance requirements involving the sale of marijuana
  • General understanding of the cannabis industry including product knowledge, compliance, and best practices
  • Genuine interest and enthusiasm for cannabis and legalization
  • Management experience preferred
  • Ability to remain even tempered in high stress situations

  • Passion for working in the ever growing and changing cannabis industry
