DENVER (January 26, 2016) – Good Chemistry, one of Denver’s leading medical and recreational marijuana dispensaries, has announced the newest addition to their executive team, Laura Davis, who joins as Director of Compliance. In her new role, Davis is responsible for the development and oversight of Good Chemistry’s compliance programs and initiatives in the ever-evolving cannabis industry.

“As Good Chemistry continues to expand in the rapidly growing cannabis market, we welcome Laura to the Good Chemistry family,” said Matthew Huron, CEO, Good Chemistry. “She brings over 30 years’ of experience in regulatory compliance, public policy development and strategic planning to our leadership team.”

Prior to Good Chemistry, Davis served as director of environmental, health and safety (EHS) and system safety engineering for Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corporation, where she significantly reduced operation costs and waste, created and enhanced new business opportunities, increased revenues, and reduced work related injuries and associated costs. Her past experience includes designing, implementing and leading EHS compliance programs for various industries, including electric, natural gas and wastewater utilities, as well as hazardous waste treatment, storage and disposal facilities. As a Colorado State Board of Health member, she was directly involved in the public policy and regulatory promulgation process.

Davis was previously appointed by five governors to serve five terms on the Colorado State Board of Health from 1995 until 2015, largely due to her pragmatic approach and ability to collaborate with various stakeholders on complex issues to achieve positive outcomes related to public policy and regulatory initiatives. Davis served as the Board president from 2011 through 2015. In 2014, Davis was a finalist for the Colorado Women Chamber of Commerce’s “Athena” award and the Women’s Vision Foundation “Woman of the Year.” In 2015, the Girl Scouts of America recognized Davis as a Woman of Distinction. She has also served on the governing board for several organizations, including the Regional Institute of Health and Environmental Leadership and the Colorado Environmental Partnership.

Davis graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s degree in recreation management and went on to complete her Master’s degree at the University of Denver in environmental policy and management.

“It is rewarding to be able to join the cannabis industry at such a dynamic time,” said Davis. “I look forward to bringing my experience and expertise to Good Chemistry.”
